If you have little money you need cheap lock picks...
Expensive picks are not the only things that work, cheap lock picks will too
The tools used in any profession are very important. To a surgeon his scalpels and drills and other items are necessary if he is going to perform his job to the best of his ability.
The same goes for electricians and plumbers. Lock pickers are no exception. For a locksmith to do his job effectively he needs the right set of tools.
A good lock picker is better in some ways than any other professional. If a surgeon has no scalpel the procedure has to be postponed because there are no doctors that can fashion those types of instruments. If a lock picker needs tools then all they need to get going is a few common household items like pins, paperclips and an allen wrench or two. How is that so? Ingenuity is the best tool any locksmith needs.
Cheap vs. Expensive
I have stated before that a homemade set of lock picks is good enough to get started picking. That is true and I stand by that. Also, in a pinch you can feel free to used cheap lock picks but to really pusher further in the trade you will need advance on to the stronger, more precise versions of the picks and tension wrenches included in commercially made lock pick sets.

This is the case with tools as well. Once you get a cheap set you will want o move up to a nicer set soon. The good thing is that cheap sets of lock picks are cheaper than a cheap motorcycle. You can start off low and work up.
The more money you spend on a lock pick set the more you will get. If you choose to go with cheap lock picks you will only likely get the basics, a lock pick and a tension wrench. As you move up the grips on the picks gets nicer and more comfortable and the variety and number of tools increases. If you triple or quadruple the cost of the cheap lock picks then you can get a thirty two of even sixty nine piece kit that has a enormous selection of lock picks: hooks, rakes, balls, diamonds, extractors and tension tools. At first you would not really know what to do with all of that so smaller and cheaper is the way to go.
